MAHAPREIT (Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited) is a wholly Subsidiary Company of Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation (MPBCDC), Government of Maharashtra Company.

MAHAPREIT having objectives to establish and carry-on business of Generating, Trading, operating, leasing and renting Renewable Power Projects mainly but not limited to Solar Power Projects including Solar Parks along with sub-stations and transmission lines on ownership and/or build, own and transfer basis.  Further objects are to establish and/or carry on business in relation to Decarbonisation and energy efficiency, battery storage solutions, alternative fuel cell technology and climate change issues in accordance with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) schemes/policies or Ministry of Power or any such department of Govt of India (GoI) and its PSU/companies and Govt of Maharashtra (GoM) Energy dept’s Renewable Energy Policy as amended from time to time and all incidental and allied activities required for such business.

MAHAPREIT is a wholly owned subsidiary company of MPBCDC, as recently approved by the GR NO: SANKIRNA-2022/ PRA KRA 29/ CORPORATIONS DT. 10.07.2023 ISSUED BY SOCIAL JUSTICE AND SPECIAL ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT (GOM).

URBAN PLANNING

The Urban Planning vertical of MAHAPREIT deals with

• Preparation of physical plans and corresponding development control regulations as required.

• Activities including scientific planning interventions through engaging communities and various stakeholders for the development of green field areas or the redevelopment/retrofitting/improvement of haphazardly grown urban areas.

• Preparation of plans for orderly development, efficient utilisation of resources, and providing various amenities to improve the quality of life and public health.

•Significant projects:

a)MAHAPREIT as ADA/ SPA for BSNA: Bhiwandi Surrounding Notified Area (BSNA) consists of 60 villages admeasuring approximately 14,440 hectares (144 sq. km). It is proposed to appoint MAHAPREIT as the Area Development Authority (ADA)/ Special Planning Authority (SPA) for BSNA. The proposal submitted to the Urban Development Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, is awaiting approval.

b)Shri Mahalakshmi Temple Trust Project: MAHAPREIT acts as the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) for the proposed development initiatives of Shri Mahalakshmi Temple Trust (SMTT) and is preparing a conceptual plan for the redevelopment of Mahalakshmi Temple and its surrounding area, including the Heritage precinct of the temple.

C) EWS/ Affordable Housing Scheme: Implementation of EWS/ Affordable Housing scheme for backward class communities on a land parcel of 16.15 hectares (40 acres) at Jambhul (Moholi), Tq. Kalyan, Dist. Thane.
