As per MoES, Govt. of India, the global average temperature has risen by around 1 Degree Celsius since pre-industrial times. This magnitude and rate of warming cannot be explained by natural variations alone and must necessarily take into account changes due to human activities. Emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), aerosols, and changes in land use and land cover (LULC) during the industrial period have substantially altered the atmospheric composition, and consequently the planetary energy balance, and are thus primarily responsible for the present-day climate change. Warming since the 1950s has already contributed to a significant increase in weather and climate extremes globally (e.g., heat waves, droughts, heavy precipitation, and severe cyclones), changes in precipitation and wind patterns (including shifts in the global monsoon systems), warming and acidification of the global oceans, melting of sea ice and glaciers, rising sea levels, and changes in marine and terrestrial ecosystems.

Message by the Managing Director
We stand at a defining moment - one where economic
growth must move in harmony with environmental responsibility and social
equality. The world is navigating towards a pivotal era where economic progress
is intrinsically linked with environmental stewardship and social equity.
For India to achieve its ambitious climate goals and
ensure sustainable growth, businesses must adopt a new paradigm—one where
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles are at the core of their
strategy.
At MAHAPREIT, a Government of Maharashtra undertaking
we are committed to being a catalyst for this change towards inculcating ESG
principles across every facet of your business. This is in line with our
mandate to pioneer renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure projects
that not only drive our state's economy but also ensure the upliftment of our
most marginalized communities.
Our ESG brochure presents our portfolio of ESG and
Sustainability services – designed to create measurable impact and lasting
value. While these are our initial product offering, we intend to expand our
product offering across the spectre of Environmental, Social and Governance.
I invite all concerned/Stakeholders to join us in this journey, make use of our expertise in enabling your businesses towards the NetZero targets. Let’s build a future that is not only prosperous but also resilient, inclusive and sustainable.

ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and
Governance, is a framework used to measure and disclose a company's performance
on sustainability and corporate responsibility themes. It offers a holistic
approach for companies to manage risks and strengthen their accountability to
both investors and stakeholders. The impact a company can have on it’s
ecosystem has become vividly clear, whether it’s on a global or a local basis.
Investors, Activists, Governments, and all other stakeholders are constantly monitoring
the same. Hence, embedding “Sustainability in Business” is a top of mind
agenda for all organizations and governments globally.
ENVIRONMENTAL: This component addresses a
company's impact on the environment. Key parameters include the efficient use
of energy and resources, adoption of renewable energy, responsible waste
management, and using clean technology.
SOCIAL: This focuses on how a business treats
people, including its employees, customers, and the local communities it
operates in. It covers diversity and inclusion policies, safe working
conditions, fair wages, protection of human rights, and positive community
relations.
GOVERNANCE: This relates to corporate policies
and governance practices. It is about clarifying the rights, responsibilities,
and expectations of stakeholders to achieve consensus on long-term strategy.
Factors include tax strategy, corporate risk management, executive
compensation, anti-corruption policies, board structure, and the protection of
shareholder rights.
In India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)
has mandated sustainability disclosure through its Business Responsibility and
Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework. This reporting is applicable to the
top 1000 listed entities by market capitalization from the financial year
2022-23. The BRSR is based on the nine principles outlined in the National
Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC), 2018.
Why us?
Choosing us
means partnering with an organization that uniquely combines government-backed
credibility with deep, multi-disciplinary expertise. We are not just
consultants; we are end-to-end solution providers with a proven track record of
time-bound delivery on large-scale national projects. Our team of focused
professionals, including engineers and domain specialists, offers independent,
third-party assessments and a "total solutions under one roof"
approach. Our core mission is to bridge the gap between policy, technology,
finance, and on-ground implementation, ensuring that sustainability initiatives
are not only compliant but also strategically sound and impactful.
Why Now?
The landscape
of corporate responsibility is shifting from voluntary action to a strategic
imperative. The SEBI mandate on Business Responsibility and Sustainability
Reporting (BRSR) is now a firm reality for the top 1000 listed companies,
demanding transparent and comprehensive disclosure. Simultaneously, investor
focus has dramatically intensified, with assets in ESG-related funds surging
multifold signalling a massive flow of capital towards sustainable enterprises.
This is a critical moment. Delaying a robust ESG strategy is no longer an
option for companies aiming to maintain a competitive edge, attract green
capital, and meet the growing demands of investors, governments and
stakeholders for responsible business conduct.
